There is so much happening in the communities across Lincoln that isn't reported in the local media, that we have set about getting to the bottom of it. The University of Lincoln in conjunction with SIREN FM, Lincoln's Community Radio Station has engaged volunteers (Community Journalists) to report on the areas of the city where they live and work. Their reports can be heard regularly on the airwaves and tell the story of a Lincoln that is buzzing with news, real life stories and exciting projects that have in some instances have been overlooked. Our reporters compile their news on a 2/3 week rota and present it either live in the studio or recorded on location. Facilities are available to interview representitives from their communities and training is in place to assist in making that next exciting step into broadcasting a reality. This is a broadcast facility that takes news right into the homes of residents of the area of Lincoln from which the journalists report and promotes their activities to the rest of the City of Lincoln. The CJ's also gain a valuable insight into and experience the exciting world of community journalism.
